Google released their view on AI-generated content after it was put into question if it saw the content as spam and therefore did not help in a business's SEO.
Google stated in their Google Search Central Blog “When it comes to automatically generated content, our guidance has been consistent for years. Using automation- including AI - to generate content with the primary purpose of manipulating ranking in search results is a violation of our spam policies. This said, it’s important to recognize that not all use of automation, including AI generation, is spam. Automation has long been used to generate helpful content, such as sports scores, weather forecasts, and transcripts. AI has the ability to power new levels of expression and creativity, and to serve as a critical tool to help people create great content for the web.”
What does this mean? This means that if you are using AI-generated content, it is better to amend it and put use it almost as a first draft rather than the final product.
So if you are using AI-generated content, now could be the time to make some changes. If you need help with content that is not automated, drop me a message below!
